Oban

We work, had breakfast, and headed off at about 9 am. We drive out towards Lochness-the same where we came in and headed down to Invergowrie. And then drove down on the eastern side of Loch Lochy then crossed back over the ‘Caledonian canal’ to see the ‘steps of Neptune.’ This is a series of six steps/lochs taking boats up or down over 20 m.

We then went to Fort William and bought some food for dinner. Then off again-we took the turn off to the Kinlochleven Centre in search of the Highland display that Josie and Karla spoke about to us-we had the wrong town. As we drove on to Glencoe we found the Highlander mystery centre. It was £5 to get in but we thought we would do it. Was it was all about really was a mystery. It was not very good. We got clan names and ours by chance with Scotty. That was the most exciting thing that happened!

From there it was off to Oban. This is a beautiful little fishing village where ferries leave to go to Mull. You could spend A couple of days here relaxing. We found a place to stay and then walked into town for dinner. We dined at the Oban inn with Haggis and a couple of beers. He’s had a good atmosphere. We bought an ice cream and then went for an hours walk around town into an old falling down building then it was back to our room to watch TV and go to bed.
