Ho Chi Minh

Today we slept in. We woke at 8am. Today is the day for packing. We spent until about 11am packing up our packs ready for London. With the new hand luggage bag, we bought last night we had plenty of room. After checking out of our hotel we left our bags under teh stairs and went out shopping with firstly a stop at the internet cafe to send an email.
We went to the market to but all those things we were going to buy in turkey. Saigon has many fake clothes, watches, and sunglasses. Bit of a risk to buy any when we are trying to get into a country we are not nationals of. We bought earrings, a wallet for me, a belt for Simon, perfume, and just walked around looking at the many things they had on offer.
For lunch, we went back to the ‘Bo Tung Xeo’ which was very nice again. then walked back past the shops to where our hotel was. We went into this shop to look for photo albums. They are made of lacquer and were very nice. $8USD each. Simon was most impressed. so much so that he bought 8 lacquered bowls as well. What are a few more purchases! We sent a couple of emails and then headed back to the hotel for a shower. it was bloody hot getting into long pants and long sleeve shirt.

We were off to the airport. We got there 31/2 hrs before the plane left and so we’re waiting for them to open the check-in counter. Two french (lesbians) pushed in front of us about 40mins before it opened. We ended up getting in front of them, but it was another example of the rude french.

Another country was conquered. VIETNAM As we look from Ho Chi Minh City first we fly to Bangkok and then to Frankfurt, before London tomorrow
