Santiago and Home

We flew back to Manuel’s farm for our last night in Santiago before flying home. We were greeted by the menagerie of animals and a home cooked meal. Much red wine and laughter and a lovely way to spend our last night.

All good things must come to an end, so too must this holiday. After 39 days we have only seen 2 countries, 3 if you count half a day in Brazil, but 13 flights in total. We have seen waterfalls, mountain ranges, more glaciers than you can count, Moai by the hundreds and penguins by the thousands. We have been freezing cold, hot, sick, tired at times but never tired of seeing new places.

We feel a mixture of happy anticipation at going home to family, friends and pets but also sadness that our “holiday family” is going back to the usual routine in our own houses instead of in each other’s pockets.

Bel: This trip was an great way to finish school. I had such an amazing time especially in Valparaíso, Iguazu and the boat – Thanks for paying.
Abi: What a great 6 weeks! Valparaíso topped my list. I loved every minute.
Izzy: Great trip overall. Won’t miss the wierd tasting water but will miss the great company and perros
Will: Amazing trip. Definitely ticked a few things off the bucket list!
Kate: South America was an amazing place full of colours, delicious food and don’t forget stray dogs. There were many beautiful places but my favourite was Valparaíso due to all the bright street art and curious dogs which would follow you everywhere whilst protecting you from strangers.
Tania: This was a once in a lifetime trip with my family and special friends. It was a fabulous way to celebrate the end of school for Izzy, Bel and Wills and I am so happy to have spent this time with them. There were a lot of beautiful and surprising places and I especially enjoyed exploring Patagonia. The memories will last forever.
Luke: What an amazing experience! I feel incredibly grateful that we could take so much time off to spend travelling through Argentina and Chile with my family and friends.
Nat: I had an awesome 6 weeks – would not have changed a thing, except maybe stayed longer.
Fell very lucky to be able to spend the time with my beautiful family and wonderful friends for such a long period of time. Could have done with eating a bit less – but hey, we had fun.
Simon: a fantastic trip with the ‘big family’, from cities to waterfalls, hikes, glaciers, Cape Horn, Easter Island and the street art of Valparaiso – lots of memories.
