Edinburgh

We woke early this morning 6 am to get ready for our trip to Edinburgh. After having showers, which was a debacle all because he could not stop the pipes from banging, we set off to Clapham Junction to get the train to Victoria and then King’s Cross where caught the train to Edinburgh. We got to the station an hour early, so sat on the floor and had hot chocolate.
We boarded the train at 8:50 am and at 9 o’clock we were off. The trains travel so much faster than they do in Australia. It took 5 1/2 hours through some beautiful countryside.
We went to the beautiful town of Edinburgh and we caught a bus to the guest house. After a cup of tea, we walked into town and up to the castle to look at the view. On the way back we stopped in at a tartan shop to have a look and then stopped off at a pub ‘Dean Brodies’ and had 2 x 1/2 pints of the Scottish beer.
For dinner we had Pizza Hut but were unable to finish it all, so took two pieces home in a doggy bag. On the way home there was an old man-homeless sitting on the pavement with a few coins in his lap. We gave him the pizza which he quickly tucked into. Then it was back to our room for some admin and bed.
