Day 1<\/strong><\/p>\n

On arriving in Denpasar we were greeted with the familiar mass of touts wanting us to take their taxi<\/p>\n

Our week in Bali started with a night at the Pullman Bali Legian Nirwana Hotel \u2013 directly opposite the beach.<\/p>\n

First stop the roof top pool \u2013 for drinks and a swim and to watch the waves roll in.<\/p>\n

Day 2<\/strong><\/p>\n

An early morning trip to the beach<\/p>\n

\"Bali<\/a><\/p>\n

Followed by breakfast where it bucketed down!<\/p>\n

\"Pouring<\/a><\/p>\n

Nothing more to do than sit and eat!<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

\"Uno\"<\/a>And play Uno.<\/p>\n

After lunch – well, really breakfast that became lunch we were taken to our tranquil villa.<\/p>\n

Day 3<\/strong><\/p>\n

Although it had rained all night and was raining when we woke, the decision was made to don our rain jackets and go riding.  Not long after leaving our little village the rain had stop and we had the perfect day to ride through the Bali countryside<\/p>\n

First stop Telgalalang Rice Terrace<\/p>\n

Brunch at Mt Batur<\/p>\n

Then a ride through the balinese countryside.<\/p>\n

Day 4<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our morning started with rain followed by breakfast, then each of us had a massage, followed by lunch and then an afternoon in Seminyak.<\/p>\n

The kids were desperate to find souvenirs, so the challenge was set.  Who could buy the best quality, quantity and best souvenir value for $10AUD. It was pouring with rain most of the afternoon, which made their negotiations interesting!<\/p>\n

We had dinner at Ku DeTa on the beach with high hopes of watching the sunset \u2013 but no, it just poured!<\/p>\n

\"DSC_2916\"<\/a>Day 5<\/strong><\/p>\n

With all the rain of the last few days -what a grea idea to go white water rafting!!.  Our driver form yesterday said he knew a guy that could take us \u201cgood price, medium safety\u201d \u2013 we had no other recommendation so decided all in and off we went to white water raft down the Ayung River.<\/p>\n

It was a 1 hr drive into the centre of the island where we found our tour and our life jackets, helmets and paddles. There were also elephants and a mangy looking kitten that all the children wanted to bring home.<\/p>\n

What a great fun day!!<\/p>\n

Day 6<\/strong><\/p>\n

Another day of relaxing, swimming, massage, and body scrub.  After lunch we went into Seminyak where Simon and Luke had a surf and the rest of us shopped again for the elusive souvenir!

Finishing up with dinner at La Luccioli\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

DAY 7<\/strong><\/p>\n

It was a beautiful day. Waterbom Bali!  Voted number 2 water park in the world!!! On trip advisor.  We had to do it!!<\/p>\n

Not many photos but we had a fabulous day. Great way to beat the heat.<\/p>\n

Day 8<\/strong><\/p>\n

We said goodbye to out Villa and today we travel to Borneo!
