On Wednesday we set out for Ch\u00e2teau de Versailles which was the political capital and seat of the royal court from 1682 to 1789 when revolutionary mobs massacred the palace guard and dragged Louis XVI and Marie-Anoinette to Paris and chopped off their heads.\"20130111-171201.jpg\"<\/a> \"20130111-172232.jpg\"<\/a>
\nThis luxurious and ostentatious palace covers 67,000msq and the land is 2014 acres!!! You could spend days here just wandering around. William fancied living here – “there would always be something new do do!!!” We spent quite a while in the palace and went out into the gardens to have a picnic on a cold marble seat. Not so good for the core body temperature. Needless to say we did not spend quite as long outside. We did however visit the summer home that had on the same property!!!!

\nOn our way back to the apartment we made a return visit to the ice cream shop to buy a much anticipated ice cream. The salted butter caramel did not disappoint!!!
\nThen Isabel insisted we go onto the Eiffel Tower to see the lights at night. It was well worth the trip! Thanks Emelyn.

\nThe next day started with a climb up the Arc de Triomphe for more views over Paris<\/p>\n

\nA visit from some astronauts on our walk down the Champs Elyees<\/p>\n

\nAnd onto the Louvre to find the Mona Lisa. Although that was all the kids wanted to see we still managed to spend one and a half hours there!!!!<\/p>\n

\nWe headed back to get the kids dinner as we had organised a babysitter for the night and Simon and I had dinner and show tickets for the Moulin Rouge. A true Parisian experience!!!!<\/p>\n

\nOur last day in Paris started with some blue sky so we thought we would climb to the top of the Sacre Coeur but it was closed so off we went to see Sainte-Chapelle for its magnificent stained glass.<\/p>\n

\nAnd the back to Montmartre for lunch and a wander around the streets and to the artisan square where the children all had their portraits done.<\/p>\n

\nOn our way to dinner the boys found a place to get their hair cut. Williams pointy sideburns were getting out of control!!! I don’t think I had even seen someone getting their hair cut by a man in a suit before.<\/p>\n

\nKIDS CORNER:
\nI liked walking around the streets and although it was a little smelly in some places it is pretty. I really liked climbing the Eiffel Tower and seeing the lights at night. Isabel
\nI like Paris because the are lots of things to see. I really like the musicians in the subway but not so much the homeless people. Abigail
