Wales – Hay on wye

Departing London Paddington at 8 am we headed off on the “Hairy Hog Snowdonia in mid-Wales tour”.
Stopping for lunch at the Welsh border town of Hay-on-why and its 33 secondhand bookstores, containing millions of books on every subject under and including the sun. Josie purchased a book on poems and poetry.

Devils Bridge

A quick hike in atmospheric conditions down around the waterfall below Devils Bridge (with 3 bridges, 10th century, 14th century and 19th century.

Aberystwyth

The beautiful university town of Aberystwyth (where Merlin’s book of spells is kept), but not available for viewing, lest one learn the lost art) where we drank, dined, strolled along the coast around the castle ruins, and then around the harbour.

Corris

The Corris YHA was our resting place for two nights. No double mixed accommodation we were sent to our separate rooms. After numerous beers and a lock-in that continued into the wee hours, we played some cards and retired. Corris is within the Snowdonia National Park and was an old slate mining town.
