Day 8 Wednesday 5th December.

Our last day on the islands. We disembarked at 9am at San Cristóbal Island and went to the Interpretation Centre to learn about natural history in the Galápagos. Just before getting into the dinghy we had 3 Sea Lions playing off the back of the boat.Sea Lions of the back of the boat Sea Lions of the back of the boat

San Cristóbal is the political capital of the province of the Galápagos, and the port is apparently the only town where you see Sea Lionswalking down the street. We didn’t see them walking, only sleeping.

After the learning about the natural history we walked up Tijeretas Hill. It is called this because it is the local’s name for the Frigate Bird.

Kids Corner:

I think it was awesome that we could sit next to sea lions and I liked the snorkelling because we could swim with sea lions and swim covered in fish. Abi

It was fascinating that we could get close to the animals and that the animals were not scared of us. I liked the snorkelling because there was loads of different varieties of animals that we could see. Wills

I liked everything. I liked the boat. I liked seeing the turtles, volcanoes, sea lions. Everything. Bella.
